Dr. Nielsen’s Story

David Nielsen, MD completed his residency and has been practicing medicine since 2018. Dr Nielsen attended our local college ASU for his B.S. in Biosciences. Dr Nielsen then went on to study at the Medical College of Wisconsin for his MD. Due to the rigorous and excellent training environment, Dr Nielsen stayed at MCW to complete his internship and residency. While specializing in Anesthesiology, Dr Nielsen also received extensive critical care and primary care training. While practicing Anesthesia Dr Nielsen discovered that he wasn’t able to really develop a relationship with his patients due to their acute and short interactions. He loved caring for a patient while they underwent surgery, however he felt that he was missing the wonderful patient/doctor relationship he experienced during training. This led him to Desert Mobile Medical, the best primary care physicians in the valley. Dr Nielsen actually initially started as a patient, however he was so impressed with the model and the care he had received that he sought employment with the company. This way he could once again care for his patients and have the time available that excluding insurance allows to truly develop a deep relationship with his patients.

Due to his Anesthesia background, Dr Nielsen has extensive experience with almost any procedure related care. In addition to this, he specializes in the treatment of chronic pain and depression. While he is experienced with all facets of primary care, his education has given him the expertise needed to deliver excellent care for both acute and chronic conditions. Dr Nielsen has cared for patients at several Banner hospitals through out the valley in addition to some surgery centers and pain clinics.

Dr Nielsen loves the ability to see patients in their home, the place they feel most comfortable in. This better enables him to discover any possible environmental factors that may play into his patients’ diseases and is extremely convenient for his patients. He also enjoys training other physicians and nurses, remembering that he too once required this attention and instruction.

Dr Nielsen is married to an incredible woman and has two wonderful and beautiful daughters. He loves spending time with his family as well as camping, hiking, fishing and other outdoor activities.
