A Few Words About Me
Burgess is a native of Arizona who graduated from Grand Canyon University with her Bachelors degree in Nursing and later graduated from the GCU Adult and Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program with her Masters in Science of Nursing. She is currently board certified with ANCC in Arizona. Driven by an early passion for medicine, Burgess first entered the medical field at just 14 years of age as a volunteer at a heart hospital near her home. She went on to pursue her dreams of becoming a nurse, caring for patients undergoing surgery at a level one trauma center in Scottsdale, Arizona. After spending a summer at Tucson Medical Center where her family member underwent a lifesaving heart surgery, she quickly realized her desire to care for critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit.
She went on to work three years in Trauma ICU as a Registered Nurse and today, continues to practice medicine at a level one Trauma center in Phoenix as a Neurocritical Care and Stroke Nurse Practitioner. One of her most memorable experiences in medicine was volunteering with her church medical mission in Malawi, Africa where her team assessed and treated hundreds of women with children battling disease in the village. She had said that the people of Malawi, having what we as Americans viewed as so little, were the happiest people she had ever met.
In her years of experience, Burgess has seen the devastations of chronic disease and acute illness in hospitalized patients. She recognizes the importance of primary prevention and outpatient management as a means of protecting patients from prolonged hospitalizations. Desert Mobile Concierge services allow her to do just that.
Her healthcare delivery is a combination of knowledge gleaned from inpatient medicine as well as empathetic nature caring for those in her community.
When Burgess is not working , she enjoys cooking meals for friends and family , exploring the outdoors with her two dogs and watching TV documentaries about people and events in history.
